UMass to Wear Jerseys Honoring Boston Victims at Spring Game

Five players on UMass’s football team will wear jerseys honoring victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and Sean Collier, the MIT police officer the suspected terrorists murdered on Friday night, during the school’s Spring Game on Saturday.

According to NESN, “senior defensive lineman Stanley Andre will wear Martin Richard’s name, freshman wide receiver Klysmann Afonso will wear Krystle Cambell’s, sophomore tight end Brandon Howard will wear Lu Lingzi’s, sophomore defensive back Randall Jette will wear MIT police officer Sean Collier’s, and senior captain Rob Branchflower’s uniform will bear the rallying cry ‘Boston Strong.'”

At halftime of the Spring Game, the football team will also allow anyone who did not finish the Boston Marathon to “Cross The Finish Line” by running a lap around the stadium as their names are put on the video board.
