Former NJ governor Christine Todd Whitman is now promoting a new group called "Americans Elect", a bipartisan group of political elites who plan to give voters an alternative to the limited two-party system currently in place. The group provides no other agenda than supplying a different type of nominating process, one that takes place entirely online. Virtually anyone with an Internet connection and valid ID can become a “delegate”. 2 Feb 2012

Federal Court Rules Prop 8 Unconstitutional

The 9th Circuit Court affirmed the lower court's ruling that Proposition 8, banning gay marriage, was unconstitutional. A section of the opinion released by the court reads: ‎"Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians ... and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior ... the Constitution simply does not allow for 'laws of this sort.'" 2 Feb 2012

Dozens Killed In Deadly Egypt Soccer Riot

"It was the worst incident of soccer violence in Egypt and the deadliest worldwide since 1996. One player said it was 'like a war.' Stadium employees at the Cairo stadium said some of the bleachers were set ablaze, but firefighters put it out before it caused much damage.... The melee broke out after fans of Al-Masry, the home team in Port Said, stormed the field after a rare 3-1 win against Al-Ahly, Egypt’s top team. Breitbart Editor and author of "Throw Them All Out" Peter Schweizer appeared on CNN earlier today to discuss the latest votes on the STOCK Act in the Senate.
