Michael Meunier

Michael Meunier is a leading businessman and human rights advocate who spent most of his adult life advocating for the causes of democracy, human rights and freedom in Egypt. He was born in Egypt and immigrated to the United States of America in 1990.

In 2011, Michael founded Al Haya Political Party in Egypt after taken an active leadership role in the 2011 revolution in Egypt. Michael became the first and only Copt in the history of Egypt approved as a president of an Egyptian political party.

In 2007, Michael Meunier brought his political experience to Egypt and founded Hand in Hand for Egypt, an Egyptian NGO working in the area of political awareness and mobilization of the Egyptian youth. In the 2010 parliamentary election, Hand in Hand designed and executed a training program to train 200 Candidates to enter the parliamentary election from different Egyptian politically disadvantaged groups such as Youth, Women, Nubians, etc. The NGO is considered one of the most equipped in the area of political development and mobilization in Egypt.

In 2005, Michael Meunier became the first Egyptian American to become a major political party Candidate in parliamentary election, when the Republican Party nominated him to run for the 39th Virginia House District.

In 2004, Michael served on the Republican National Committee Outreach Advisory Committee during the 2004 U.S. Presidential election.

In 1996, Michael founded and still heads the U.S Copts Association. The Association represents over 1 million Copts living in the U.S. and he is frequently consulted by Members of Congress and the U.S. Administration on issues of international relations with Egypt.

Michael received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1994, where he was nominated for the Outstanding Student Leader Award and was elected President of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) for two consecutive years. Michael currently is the CEO of Xtenfer Consulting Inc., a Virginia based IT Consulting firm. Prior to founding his own firm, Michael worked for two of the top-consulting firms in the world, Price Waterhouse LLP and Deloitte and Touché Consulting Group.

Michael is a Board Member of the Middle Eastern Satellite TV station Tele-Lumiere/Noursat International.   Michael has appeared on many syndicated TV and Radio programs to provide expert opinions on fundamentalism in the Middle East, including appearances on CNN, C-SPAN, BBC, C-SPAN, EWTN, Fox News, Al-Jazeera, LBC, Al-Hurra, and Al Arabia as well as, Radio France International's English service, the John Batchelor show on ABC Radio Network, Jennet Parshal America, Israel National Radio, and The Michael Reagan Show. He is also quoted frequently and published in many of the world's major newspapers and online magazines, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Egypt Today, Le Monde, FrontPage Magazine.com and most of Egyptian TV shows and newspapers.
