Pope Francis lights the Menorah

 

 

The picture above is making the rounds–Pope Francis, then Archbishop of Buenos Aires, lighting the Chanukah candles with members of Argentina’s Jewish community. Francis is well regarded for his outreach to other faiths, and has been welcomed by Jewish leaders around the world, who are particularly appreciative of his support for the Jewish community of Argentina in the aftermath of the Iranian terror attack of 1994.
