Eli Manning Denies ‘Trump’ Audible in London Win over Rams

Does Eli Manning want to make America great again?

The New York Giants quarterback sounded like he called an audible during his team’s 17-10 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in London that namedropped the Republican presidential nominee. But he denied saying any such thing at his postgame presser.

“Trump? Trump? No, no Trump, no Trump calls. We are using something very similar. But there is not a Trump, not an audible we are using—nothing there, nothing there,” Manning claimed.

Omaha, we have a problem.

The denials did not stop Twittericans from saying in 140 characters or less that they heard the five-letter audible from the two-time Super Bowl-winner’s mouth:

It sure sounded like “Trump, Trump.” But Manning called the audible with a mouthguard inserted in his oral cavity. Maybe he issued a warning to his linemen about the mumps (they’re contagious) or told his receivers not to get down in the dumps (that’s contagious, too). We just don’t know.

Manning made a maximum contribution, like his older brother, to Jeb Bush before the presidential primaries. In the general election, Manning, save for his in-kind, on-field contribution on Sunday, remains a scrooge.
