OXON HILL, Maryland— Secretary of Energy Rick Perry declared at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday morning that, “Freedom is being exported with American energy.”

Perry told the CPAC crowd, “The world has changed so much in the last decade about energy.”

“America became energy independent,” Perry said. “Today American is the number one oil producing oil country in the world.”

Perry explained, “It didn’t happen because of government regulations it was because they allowed the private sector.”

“We just don’t export LNG; we export freedom,” Perry added.

Perry then argued that with American independence and exporting American energy we continue to free countries from oppressive regimes that have values counter to American ones.

“People that want to be our allies they are now free from countries that would put America and put those values in jeopardy,” Perry suggested.

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke also said, “Our economy is run on America energy.”

Perry then suggested, “If you give the freedom to innovate, they’ll find the answers to the challenge.”

He then chided liberals who tried to “regulate us into nirvana.”

The Energy Secretary said, “What is happening in energy is a confirmation of the conservative movement that government is not the answer.”

Perry then said, “What this administration is doing with energy, and the tax cuts is nothing more than transformational.”

The Tax Cut and Jobs Act opened up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to oil and gas exploration and drilling.

Perry charged, “Freedom is being exported with American energy.”
