ESPN-Sponsored Conference Bans Reporting of Obama Remarks

Reporters and attendees at Friday’s ESPN-sponsored MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference (SSAC) will be banned from reporting on former President Barack Obama’s remarks.

Obama, according to the conference, is expected to “address a wide range of subjects in his talk, from his most memorable moments in the White House, to his post-presidency plans.” Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey, one of the pioneers in the analytics movement in the NBA, will co-moderate the discussion.

But all of Obama’s comments will be completely off the record, as reporters attending the conference were reportedly notified that they will not be able to share the contents of Obama’s talk during or even after the panel:

The conferences’s organizers warned that “those who fail to adhere to this policy will be subject to removal from the conference and denied tickets to future SSAC conferences.”
