Liberal Seth Meyers to Replace Jimmy Fallon on NBC's 'Late Night'

Seth Meyers, the comedian who once declared Hillary Clinton “sexy” and serves as Saturday Night Live’s head writer, will take over for Jimmy Fallon on NBC’s Late Night perch.

Meyers, best known for co-hosting SNL’s weekend update segment, will likely continue the show’s lurch to the left. Fallon’s show famously trashed GOP Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and allowed President Barack Obama to push his legislative talking points through an awkward “slow jam” news segment. Meyers also dubbed President Barack Obama smooth and longed to mock Mitt Romney’s adult sons.

Meyers’ show will originate from New York’s Rockefeller Center, just like Fallon’s “Tonight” show. Meyers’ premiere date has not been set.

Longtime “Saturday Night Live” producer Lorne Michaels will be the executive in charge of both shows.

Fallon will replace longtime Tonight Show host Jay Leno in 2014.
