Michael Moore Invokes Jesus to Bash Chris Kyle, ‘American Sniper’

Sicko filmmaker Michael Moore has never been one to quit while behind. Saturday he again took to Twitter to attack snipers in a series of tweets seemingly aimed at both the late American hero Chris Kyle and the film American Sniper.

On Jan. 18, Moore originally tweeted, “My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren’t heroes. And invaders r worse.” He later walked back his statement, but offered no apologies.

In a twist to his continued attacks against snipers, this time Moore attempted to invoke Christian ideals to assist in what is a probable defamation of a man who can no longer defend himself.

Not renowned for his teachings of theology, he tweeted:

Sunday School: (2) But What Would Jesus Do if he could be a sniper & save soldiers lives by shooting “savages” in the back? ANSWER…

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

Sunday School: (3) ANSWER: Jesus wouldn’t put any soldiers lives in harm’s way in the first place because he wouldn’t have sent them 2 Iraq

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

SundaySchool source: Pope John Paul II “The Iraq War, invading Iraq, is not a just war.” He, and the current Pope, opposed this immoral war.

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

Instead of being a sniper to protect our troops, I tried to save their lives by stopping Bush from sending them to their deaths in Iraq.

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

The idiom “do as I say, not as I do” could come to mind.

Rather than speak openly about his criticism of the film, which has found unprecedented success, Moore continues to use cryptic messages on Twitter. While a story about a man who fought for his convictions continues to resonate with audiences, Moore continues to be a glutton behind a screen.

In a related story, a wise man (not Michael Moore) once wrote, “They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.”
