Jurassic World Star Chris Pratt Won’t Film Outside of the United States

Jurassic World star Chris Pratt is all about family, and in such a morally ambiguous place as Hollywood, that is rare.

Very seldom does a rising star share values that align with middle America, but that is just how the 35-year old rolls, so much in fact he refuses to film outside of the United States.

That is, unless directors are ready to pay for 20 extra airplane tickets.

Married to actress Anna Faris since 2009, the actor has demonstrated a willingness to walk a path opposite of many of his entertainment industry peers, and has openly discussed his Christian faith. He also regularly shares tidbits of a life on social media that seem far away from the tabloid drama and A-list glamour we’re used to.

According to the New Zealand Herald, Pratt recently admitted he has a clause in his contract that stipulates he will not work overseas, but says it’s unrelated to the anxieties of travel, or a disfavor for other cultures.

He just doesn’t want to miss out on time with his family.

“I don’t wanna go across the Atlantic Ocean because it’s just too far to go that way, and so far people have been accommodating,” he told Entertainment Weekly Radio.

Pratt then said if he faces some pushback over a shooting location, he tells studios, “Listen, I’ll do this movie but you have to give me 20 plane tickets and I’m gonna need these two weeks off.”

In 2014, the actor made an exception, and filmed the 2014 megahit Guardians of the Galaxy in London, which brought in more than $770 million worldwide.

His latest film, Jurassic World, the fourth film in the Jurassic Park series, became the highest global opener of all time a week ago, and grossed $511.8 million in its first days in theaters.
