Reminder: Matt Lauer’s NBC News Spiked the Harvey Weinstein Story

As of right now, NBC News has been forced to fire three men for sexual misconduct. A booker named Matt Zimmerman, and two of its biggest stars, Mark Halperin and Matt Lauer.

These recent events appear to shed a whole new light on the left-wing network’s decision to spike Ronan Farrow’s Pulitzer-worthy exposĂ© on disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.

As Breitbart News reported last month, NBC News had in its hands one of the most consequential pieces of reporting since Watergate. NBC’s own Ronan Farrow had spent months meticulously gathering together a bulletproof piece of journalism loaded with facts, on-the-record sources, and even an audio recording.

In the weeks since the release of Farrow’s report — at the New Yorker — the lid has been blown off of decades of sexual abuse and misconduct within two powerful left-wing institutions: Hollywood and the elite media. More than a hundred names, some of the most famous in all of journalism and Tinseltown, have been caught up in what many see as a long overdue reckoning after decades of cover-ups and illicit payoffs.

All that glory fell right into the lap of NBC News, and all that glory was spiked when NBC sent Farrow down the road to the New Yorker.

If that is not damning enough, consider this: thanks to Farrow, NBC News had audio recording of Harvey Weinstein, the most powerful man in Hollywood, appearing to admit on tape (made during an NYPD sting), that he had groped a model who sought to press charges against him.

At the time, it was widely believed that the left-wing news outlet sought to protect Weinstein, who is a fellow traveler in every respect. Weinstein is not only a longtime Democrat donor and fundraiser to the tune of millions, he is a culture warrior perfectly aligned with NBC News on a variety of social and political issues.

Weinstein produced countless propaganda films that undoubtedly hit the NBC sweet spot, films that denigrated Christians and Christianity, films that lobbied against our Second Amendment civil rights, films that pushed just about every left-wing cause imaginable.

Nevertheless, because we now know that both the entertainment and mainstreame media have been covering up for Weinstein for years, NBC News appeared to be just another cog in a corrupt machine willing to do anything to protect anyone on the left, even an alleged serial sexual-predator.

That might still be true, which means the news of Halperin and Lauer only add an additional motive to NBC’s refusal to run their own reporter’s bombshell.

Losing Halperin was not the end of the world. Lauer, however, was the cornerstone of the money-printing machine (and bragging rights) that come with the top-rated morning program that is the Today Show.

Additionally, there is the damning news that everybody knew about both Halperin and Lauer.

As of now, it appears as though Haperin’s alleged misconduct ended when he left ABC/Disney. Nevertheless, the elite media is a small world, and time and again, we are being told that Halperin’s alleged predations were no secret in this small world — which of course includes NBC.

On top of that, according to Variety, the same appears to be just as true about Lauer, a twenty-year NBC veteran.

Here are five things that cannot be ignored…

1) According to various reports, Halperin’s and Lauer’s alleged sexual abuse of female staffers was no secret to NBC News (or anyone in the elite media).

2) The loss of Lauer could cost NBC its morning show ratings crown and all the advertising money that comes with it.

3) NBC News is a left-wing organization.

4) Along with Weinstein, Halperin and Lauer are left-wingers.

5) NBC had in its possession a legitimate bombshell about Weinstein that it spiked while knowing all of the above.

NBC News is not a news organization, it is a propaganda outlet. And if it will further The Cause, NBC News is willing to break a few eggs in the form of countless female victims.
