Allen West's 2012 Election Loss

Former Congressman Allen West maybe gearing up for another election position, but before he does, it is important to understand why he lost in 2012.

According to West’s opponent campaign consultant, Eric Johnson, West did himself in with a long-lasting hit on on Murphy’s past arrest history, and publishing his mugshot, a move that helped garner him some sympathy votes.

Murphy’s consultant said the West’s hit on his client was very effective, but said that it was dragged out too long, leaving some voters turning to his client out of sheer pity.

West lost a very close and contentious election to Murphy in 2012.
