A 72-year-old woman who needs constant medical care after being brutally raped by a migrant last year has never recovered and is now dying.

Breitbart London reported on the brutal case in which an Austrian pensioner was assaulted and raped in September 2015 by a 17-year-old Afghani migrant. Unser Tirol 24 has reported that more than one year on, the daughter of the 72-year-old, identified as Christina F., has said that her mother’s “body, mind, and especially her soul has given up”.

According to her daughter Sylvia, Christina had been battling severe health problems after the sex attack and has been in intensive care being fed only via tubes.

“I knew that it would end like this,” Sylvia said. During the time of the attack, which took place in the Austrian town of Traiskirchen, Sylvia worked at the large asylum centre in the area. The Traiskirchen asylum home is one of the largest in Austria and the town had become notorious as a result of the concentration of migrants, with some warning that the camp could become a hotbed of Islamic radicalisation.

Christian Konrad, the Austrian federal government’s refugee coordinator, noted earlier this year that the camp’s underage migrants may become susceptible to radicalisation by Islamic preachers. He warned that without direct intervention the camp could become a “breeding ground for radicalisation”.

The 17-year-old migrant, Wahab M., was tried for the brutal rape of the grandmother and sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment – the short sentence handed out due to the Afghani being a minor at the time of the crime. Public outrage followed the light sentencing, in addition to the migrant not being eligible for deportation under Austrian law as his sentence was less than three years.

Underage migrant crime, along with Islamic radicalisation of young Muslim migrants, is becoming an increasingly pressing issue for authorities and lawmakers in Austria and in neighbouring Germany.

There have been a significant number of incidents of sex attacks by migrant gangs over the past year at train stationsswimming poolsmusic festivals and other public gatherings, such as during New Year’s celebrations in Cologne .

In reaction, some authorities have attempted to ban migrants from swimming pools, and have asked young girls to wear wristbands that tell the migrants not to sexually assault them.
