Although Hamas has been directing rockets at Tel Aviv throughout the day, doctors at an Israeli non-profit located in the city of Tel Aviv, Save a Child’s Heart, have been working around the clock to treat Gaza youth, regardless of their background and without restraint due to the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Four of the children received today – all under five years of age and from Gaza – were brought into Wolfson Medical Center outside of Tel Aviv for vital treatment procedures.
The patients were transferred to Israel via the Erez Crossing at the Israel-Gaza border. The patients consisted of 2-year-old Bana from Elromel, Gaza; 2-year-old Remas from Jabaliya, Gaza; 1-year-old Osaid from Kham Yunis, Gaza; and 4-year-old Marwan from Elshatai, Gaza.
The four youngsters are attending a free clinic that Save a Child’s Heart holds every Tuesday specifically for Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank regions.
The clinic in Tel Aviv currently has four Arab babies recovering from free heart surgery. The four infants are from the Palestinian territories, Iraq, and Syria. Seven Palestinian children had their lives saved by doctors from SACH just last month alone.
“These children are not our enemies. Look, even today, they came and we are here and we are not letting the conflict interfere with our work. Even the pretzel man who comes to Wolfson every day came especially to my clinic today to give us pretzels for the children coming from Gaza. His children are in protected rooms; he is here handing pretzels to Palestinian children,” said Dr. Akiva Tamir, SACH’s chief cardiologist.
In the past few years, thousands of Palestinian children have undergone life-saving operations on behalf of the Save a Child’s Heart Israeli humanitarian organization.
