Iraq bombings kill 14: police

Two bombs exploded north of Baghdad on Wednesday night, killing 14 people, police and a doctor said, as Iraqi authorities struggle to contain a surge in violence.

The blasts — one at a cafe in the city of Baquba and the other on a street there — also wounded 26 people.
