Al-Ain have signed Lyon’s Brazil international Michel Bastos, who spent much of last season playing in the Bundesliga with Schalke 04, the United Arab Emirates side announced on Friday.
In a statement on their website Al-Ain confirmed: “The club have finally reached an agreement with Lyon about the transfer of the Brazilian Michel Bastos.
“He is scheduled to arrive at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Saturday so as to complete the procedures to officially join Al Ain.”
The versatile winger, who turned 30 on Friday, has turned out 10 times for Brazil, scoring once. He joined multiple former French champions Lyon from Ligue 1 rivals Lille in 2009.
No details on the length of the contract or size of the transfer were revealed by the club.
