Fat Duck, the flagship restaurant of celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal, is mourning the loss of two of its “uniquely talented young chefs” who died in a Hong Kong traffic accident.

Briton Ivan Aranto Herrera Jorge, 34, and Swede Carl Magnus Lindgren, 30, died along with driver Wong Kim-chung, 53, when the taxi they were travelling in was crushed between two double-decker buses on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Berkshire restaurant said: “We can confirm two members of our team were tragically killed in a car accident. They were both senior members and great and dear friends.

“Two uniquely talented young chefs that were loved by everyone who worked with them. They will be sadly and deeply missed.”

Another 56 people were reported injured in the accident, which occurred at 11.40am local time (0340GMT).
