BBC’s Crimewatch programme will on Monday screen a reconstruction of the murder of Stephen Lawrence in the wake of the 20th anniversary of the racist attack, police said.
The programme will feature an interview with Lawrence’s mother, Doreen, who is expected to urge any new witnesses to come forward.
Police believe there were people in the vicinity of the murder scene in Eltham who have yet to come forward and the case is still open despite two convictions.
Lawrence was stabbed to death on April 22, 1993, by a group of up to six white youths as he waited at a bus stop with a friend.
He was announced dead shortly after arriving at Brook Hospital, suffering two fatal stab wounds to his upper body.
Gary Dobson and David Norris were found guilty of being involved in the attack in January 2012 and received life sentences.
