CNN’s “The Lead” anchor Jake Tapper closed out his show on Thursday by fact-checking Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)’s (D-NV) claim that the Democratic Party doesn’t have any billionaire donors. Tapper responded “the left doesn’t have many billionaire backers? Oh really? You could name George Soros, David Shaw, Irwin Jacobs, just to name a few, let’s not forget, of course, Tom Steyer.” He then aired a profile on Steyer, the billionaire climate change activist who made a large chunk of his money investing in fossil fuels, and who still has investments in non-green energy companies.
