Carson: Religion Not Probable Cause for Searches, But Willing To Hear a Case For Them

A week after coming under fire for telling NBC’s Chuck Todd that a Muslim should not be president of the Untied States, GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson commented again on religion and politics on Sunday’s broadcast of “This Week” on ABC.

Carson was asked if in some instances religion should be enough for probable cause for searches, and while he said he “didn’t personally feel that way,” Carson did say he would be willing to consider it.

“I personally don’t feel that way, but I would certainly be willing to listen to somebody who had evidence to the contrary. I think that’s one of the problems, we get to our little corners and we don’t want to listen to anybody anymore.”
