Former GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson appeared Sunday on AM 970 New York radio show “The Cats Roundtable” and discussed the 2016 election with host John Catsimatidis.

According to Carson, the GOP establishment “is scared out of their wits” about the idea of having someone like an uncontrollable Donald Trump in office. He even added the establishment “would prefer” to have Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over Trump.

“The establishment in the Republican Party is scared out of their wits about the possibility of someone like Donald Trump, who they don’t have control over,” he told Catsimatidis. “I think the establishment Republicans would prefer to see someone like Hillary Clinton than they would Donald Trump.”

Carson later said Trump, who he recently endorsed, “has some major defects.”

“[Donald Trump] has some major defects, there’s no question about it – just like the rest of us. But I think he is willing to listen to other people. He may not say that publicly because there is a humility issue there that could perhaps use some polishing.”
