On the night of December 30, a would-be robber pulled a gun on a Katy, Texas fireworks stand owner and demanded money. He got shot four times instead.

The suspect’s partner climbed back into their car and sped away.

According to ABC 13, police got a call at approximately 9:30 pm from the “Best Fireworks Stand.” The manager said he was closing up his stand for the night when the two suspects rolled up, one of whom pulled a gun.

The manager responded by pulling his own gun and opening fire. One of the two suspects was hit four times and is hospitalized in critical condition.

Regarding the wounded suspect, Sgt. Scott Ashmore said: “I understand he robbed at least two other places tonight and shot at the complainants. [Then]…he robbed this fireworks stand and the owner of the establishment was armed and got into a shootout with the suspect.”
