Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) vowed on Wednesday to organize “angry” Latinos who are upset at President Donald Trump’s “zero-tolerance” enforcement policy to oust Trump in 2020.

Gutierrez spoke at a Washington rally of amnesty activists and told the crowd that Democrats must “expand the base” in 2020 and declared, “one million Latinos turn 18 every year and we’re going to register every last one of them to vote in the next election.”

“We’re angry, we’re marching, we’re registering, and we will prevail in the United States of the America,” Gutierrez said.

As Breitbart News reported, when Gutierrez announced he was retiring from Congress, he said he would spend his time outside of Congress building a left-wing infrastructure to defeat Trump in 2020. Gutierrez said he plans to visit states like Pennsylvania and Florida to begin his organization efforts.

Gutierrez also said Trump’s goal is to be “mean,” “cruel,” “vicious,” and “inhumane” to illegal immigrants to “send his message to his political base.”

“Our response has to be, ‘Not on our watch. We’re going to stop you,’” Gutierrez added.

The Illinois Democrat said Republicans “don’t care about immigrants” and “tearing children away from their parents as long as it allows them to stay in power.”
