Fox News anchor Shannon Bream abruptly canceled plans to host a live show on the steps of the Supreme Court Monday night following President Trump’s Supreme Court Justice announcement, fearing for her safety.
“Literally had to bail on our live show from #SCOTUS. Moving the show back to the safety of the studio. See y’all at 11p @FoxNews,” she tweeted.
An hour earlier, she had tweeted: “Very few times I’ve felt threatened while out in the field. The mood here tonight is very volatile. Law enforcement appears to be closing down 1st Street in front of SCOTUS.”

Trump announced at 9:00 p.m. ET that he had chosen Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Hundreds had gathered outside the Supreme Court before the announcement, with pro-choice groups ready to protest whomever the president named, clashing with pro-life groups also present.
But Bream’s tweets suggested there could be anger on the streets, and violence, as she stood on the steps of the Supreme Court.
Video after Trump’s announcement showed pro-choice protesters enraged. Breitbart News’s own Amanda House tweeted video from the scene, noting, “Emotions running high out here in front of #SCOTUS.”

NARAL, a pro-choice group, egged protesters on. “The crowd at #SCOTUS is HUGE. We are the majority and WE. WILL. NOT. BACK. DOWN,” the group tweeted.
Anti-Trump protesters in recent weeks have become increasingly aggressive in confronting current and former Trump officials on the streets, or those who express support for Trump.
