The Oscar Opening: Well … It Was Different

We can’t say Seth MacFarlane didn’t warn us.

The Family Guy creator’s opening monologue had singing, dancing and Capt. James T. Kirk from the future.

Huh?

MacFarlane let loose with a few funny, button-pushing gags, but some of the jokes sounded as if they were written in the limo en route to the show. And that faux musical number about actresses baring their boobs? It felt like Rob Lowe came back for an Awful Oscar Moment curtain call.

It’s clearly the most meta Oscar monologue ever, another chance to put a wedge between the attendees and the viewing audience.
