IZARD COUNTY – A Horseshoe Bend woman was arrested last Thursday on drug charges after investigators say she brought meth to the courthouse where she was appearing on a previous drug charge. According to the sheriff, the incident occurred when 37-year-old Stacy Albertson pulled into the Izard County Sheriff’s Office/Izard County District Court parking lot. As luck would have it, Senior Deputy Gabe Sanders happened to be running his drug dog around the cars in the lot when the dog “hit” on a Chevy Lumina…a Chevy Lumina belonging to one, Stacy Albertson.
Authorities say a search turned up a cigarette pack containing a clear plastic baggie with a “crystalline substance” which later tested positive for meth.
Albertson was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Class D felony.
She is currently free on $2,500 bond.
Appearances can be so deceiving.
