KSTU: Utah senator, Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, proposed to legislature that high schoolers could opt out of senior year as a way to save on Utah’s education budget shortfall. Buttars also suggested that bus routes could be eliminated as many are underutilized. Buttars says with an education budget that is short by $102 million, that lawmakers have to think “outside the box.”
