Watch: Pirates’ Sean Rodriguez Threatens to Kill Cubs Player, Uses Gatorade Cooler as Punching Bag

In the top of the seventh inning of Wednesday’s National League Wild Card game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs, Pirates relief pitcher Tony Watson beaned Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta in the hip with two outs and no one on base, with the Cubs up 4-0.

Benches cleared, as Arrieta took exception to the beaning after he hit two Pirates batters earlier in the game, and Pirates infielder Sean Rodriguez was ejected for allegedly throwing a punch at Cubs catcher David Ross during the scrum.

Rodriguez could be seen yelling towards a Cubs player, “I’m gonna f—— kill you!” and then he took his anger out on a Gatorade cooler in the dugout before leaving the game.

The Cubs ended up defeating the Pirates 4-0 and will face the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLDS on Friday.
