On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” columnist Mike Barnicle and Bloomberg Politics Managing Editor Mark Halperin reacted to reported harassment of Republican electors by arguing that if Trump supporters were doing the same to Democratic electors, the media would be “crushing” them.
Halperin said that President-Elect Donald Trump’s tweet that if his supporters were doing likewise, they would be blasted for doing so was “the truest Trump tweet I think, ever.”
Barnicle added, “if Trump supporters had done this, and Hillary Clinton had won, I mean, it — we in the media would continue to be crushing his supporters, which were widely misread, prior to the election, and the candidate himself.”
