Motorists driving through Sacramento this past Presidents Day holiday weekend got an eyeful as they drove down U.S. Route 50. The R-rated, box office smashing film “50 Shades of Grey” could be seen in plain sight from a projection screen at a nearby drive-in movie theatre.

According to Sacramento Fox affiliate  KTXL, viewers could see the film as it was being screened from the WestWind All Digital Drive-in theater on Sunday. The movie is fully-loaded with nudity and an underlying S&M (Sadism and Masochism) theme.

The sighting was met with mixed reactions. John Schmidt of Sacramento had been on his way to the theater to celebrate his son’s 10th birthday and found it challenging to pry his young boys’ eyes away from the graphic public display. “We just drove in and these two–he’s 12 and he’s 10–were very interested in watching it coming in,” John said.

A woman named Jennifer was less bothered by the viewing suggesting, the youth might not have enough time to be cognizant of what was unfolding on screen before their eyes. “I don’t know if they would have enough time to figure out what’s going on,” she told KTXL.
