A retired Detective Inspector from the Metropolitan Police Force has spoken of child sex abuse evidence linked to the notorious address at the heart of the Westminster paedophile ring investigations. Dolphin Square in Pimlico has become the centre of the Met’s Operation Midland investigation into historic sex abuse and the former detective has described events believed to have occurred at that location.

The Express reports that in 1985 Met officers from West End Central searching for a Soho runaway acted on a tip-off that the boy had been taken to Dolphin Square against his will. The police searching the block uncovered what is described as “a small-scale film studio” in the living room of a first-floor apartment.

One of the investigating officers was former Detective Inspector Geoff Platt. He told The Express: “The lights and the camera looked professional and expensive, worth a few thousand pounds but they’d been discarded. Someone had left in a hurry. The camera was set up between two chairs and was focused on a patch of floor in the middle of the room.

“We had the lights and cameras tested but nothing came back – but forensic tests 30 years ago were not nearly as thorough as they are now.”

Some time later a 15-minute sex video was seized in London’s West End, and Detective Inspector Platt says a fellow female officer recognised the Dolphin Square flat as the location of the child abuse being recorded. He explained:

“At the time we had a number of officers who had the unenviable task of watching a number of pornographic videos, including those featuring children, which had been seized in Soho.

“A WPC matched photos we had taken of the flat with one particular video showing a young white boy of about 11 being raped. The video had no audio, so we couldn’t pick up voices or accents. However, it showed two men with the boy who were only seen from the neck down.

“They were undoubtedly wealthy, both were wearing expensive looking suits, which they took off to reveal a middle-aged spread around the waist.

“One of the men had a scar just under his belly button but there were no other distinguishable marks.

“Despite our best efforts we couldn’t find out who any on the film were.”

The Express says a police insider has revealed that Operation Midland officers investigating a potential Westminster paedophile ring are aware of the events. They are being taken “very seriously” because they could still provide “a vital breakthrough” into the investigation of non-recent sexual abuse.

Several alleged victims have spoken about being taken to Dolphin Square where they say they were abused by MPs, senior military officers and other members of the Establishment – one survivor who is now in his 40s even says a young boy was murdered there. Another has claimed he knows of three murdered boys, one of whom he witnessed die himself while in the company of a senior politician.

The BBC has reported that former Tory Prime Minister, the late Sir Edward Heath is also being looked at as part of Operation Midland.
