On Sunday, a California woman attempted to escape police at speeds over 100 mph in a minivan painted to resemble the Mystery Machine from “Scooby-Doo.”

Unconfirmed reports suggest that she would have gotten away with it, if not for some meddling kids.

Sharon Kay Turman, 51, was being sought by Shasta County Probation Department officials for violating her probation when Redding police attempted to stop her at 12:50 p.m.

Turman fled in a teal and green 1994 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, prompting a high-speed chase in which she was pursued by Redding police, California Highway Patrol and officers from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, according to

Turman’s pursuers temporarily lost her, but a Redding police officer spotted her. During the chase, she ran a red light, almost precipitating a collision with four other vehicles, according to KRCR. Although a CHP helicopter followed her, she ultimately escaped law enforcement by abandoning the minivan in Tehama County.

Turman remains at large. Prior to the high-speed chase, she had been arrested for petty theft and shoplifting.
