May 7 (UPI) — Apple TV is teasing its Cape Fear series.
The streaming service shared a trailer for the psychological horror thriller Thursday featuring Amy Adams, Javier Bardem and Patrick Wilson.
Cape Fear is a reimagining of the 1991 film directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange. That version is a remake of the 1962 movie based on the John D. MacDonald novel The Executioners.
Scorsese and Steven Spielberg executive produce the new series alongside Nick Antosca, who also serves as showrunner.
Adams and Wilson star as Anna and Tom Bowden, married attorneys whose happy family life is shattered when Max Cady (Bardem), a notorious killer they helped put behind bars, is released from prison and seeks revenge.
Other cast members include Joe Anders, Lily Collias, Malia Pyles, CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector and Anna Baryshnikov.
Cape Fear will have a two-episode premiere June 5 on Apple TV, with subsequent episodes to be released on Fridays.
