Dec. 22 (UPI) — Lamar Jackson, Jordan Love, Gardner Minshew and J.J. McCarthy were among the NFL players injured in Week 16. Injured players will be evaluated this week to determine potential timelines for return.
Josh Allen, Quinshon Judkins, Walter Nolan, Jordan Mason and Demario Douglas were among other players injured in Week 16.
Jackson departed in the second quarter of a 28-24 Baltimore Ravens loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday in Baltimore.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters Jackson sustained a back bruise and he didn’t know how serious it was.
“He got kneed in the back [while] on the ground,” Harbaugh said.
Jackson completed 7 of 10 passes for 101 yards. He also ran for 7 yards on two carries. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 9 of 10 passes for 65 yards and ran for 2 yards on two carries.

Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas (hamstring) and Kyriris Tonga (foot) also exited early.
The Ravens (7-8) will face the Green Bay Packers (9-5-1) on Saturday in Green Bay, Wis. The Patriots (12-3) will meet the New York Jets (3-12) on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.
Packers quarterback Love is in the NFL’s concussion protocol after he took a helmet-to-helmet hit during a loss to the Chicago Bears on Saturday in Chicago.
The Jets lost defensive lineman Jay Tufele to a foot injury during a 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in New Orleans. Defensive lineman Bryan Breese sustained a knee injury.
The Saints (5-10) will meet the Tennessee Titans (3-12) in Week 17.
Titans cornerback Marcus Harris sustained a knee injury and was ruled out during a 26-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs also lost quarterback Gardner Minshew, who started in place of Patrick Mahomes, to a left knee injury. Minshew completed 3 of 8 passes for 15 yards before his first half exit.
Quarterback Chris Oladokun completed 11 of 16 passes for 111 yards in relief of Minshew.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters that Minshew would require an MRI to determine the extent of his injury. The Chiefs (6-9) will host the Denver Broncos (12-3) at 8:15 p.m. EST Thursday in Kansas City, Mo.
Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant was carted off on a stretcher in the final minute of a 34-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was diagnosed with a concussion.

Coach Sean Payton said Bryant had movement in all of his extremities and would be examined this week. Bryant caught five passes for 42 yards.
The Jaguars (11-4), who lost offensive lineman Patrick Mekari to a back injury in the victory, will face the Indianapolis Colts (8-6) in an AFC South matchup on Sunday in Indianapolis.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy sustained a right hand injury in a 16-13 win over the New York Giants on Sunday in East Rutherford. McCarthy completed 9 of 14 passes for 108 yards and an interception before his exit. He also ran for 20 yards and a score.
Backup quarterback Max Brosmer completed 7 of 9 passes for 52 yards in relief of McCarthy. Vikings running back Jordan Mason (ankle) and center Ryan Kelly (concussion) also exited early.
Mason totaled 5 yards and two carries. He also caught a 6-yard pass.
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said McCarthy, who was unable to grip the ball due to the injury, will be evaluated this week.
Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and center John Michael Schmitz (hand) also sustained injuries.
The Vikings (7-8) will host the Detroit Lions (8-7) at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Minneapolis. The Giants (2-13) will battle the Las Vegas Raiders (2-13) in Week 17.
The Raiders lost defensive tackle J.J. Pegues (hand) and offensive lineman Caleb Rogers (quad) during a 23-21 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday in Houston.
Linebacker Jake Hanson (chest) and offensive tackle Trent Brown (knee) were among the Texans players injured.
The Texans (10-5) will take on the Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) on Saturday in Inglewood, Calif.
Chargers offensive tackle Jamaree Salyer (hamstring), running back Kimini Vidal (neck) and cornerbacks Donte Jackson (groin) and Benjamin St-Juste (shoulder) were injured during a 34-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (concussion), wide receiver Ryan Flournoy (knee) and safety Donovan Wilson (eye) also were injured.
The Cowboys (8-8-1) will play the Washington Commanders (4-11) on Thursday in Landover, Md.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen required X-rays on his foot during halftime of a 23-20 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in Cleveland. Allen, who completed 12 of 19 passes for 130 yards, returned in the second half.
Coach Sean McDermott said Allen was “in good spirits,” but would have the injury examined this week.
Bills linebacker Shaq Thompson sustained a neck injury in the win. Browns running back Quinshon Judkins was carted off in the second quarter.
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that Judkins sustained a dislocated ankle and fibula fracture. The rookie running back, who logged 51 yards from scrimmage on 13 touches against the Bills, is expected to miss the Browns’ final two games of the season.

The Bills (11-4) will host the Philadelphia Eagles (10-5) in Week 16. The Browns (3-12) will host the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-6).
Steelers cornerback Brandin Echols sustained a groin injury and was ruled out during a win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday in Detroit.
The Arizona Cardinals lost defensive tackle Walter Nolen (knee), linebacker Josh Sweat (ankle), cornerback Garrett Williams (Achilles) and center Hjalte Froholdt (elbow) in a 26-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The Cardinals (3-12) will take on the Cincinnati Bengals (5-10) on Sunday in Cincinnati.
Bengals tight end Cam Grandy sustained a collarbone injury during a win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla. He logged a 1-yard catch.
Dolphins wide receiver D’Wayne Eskridge also exited early due to a toe issue. The Dolphins (6-9) will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-8) in Week 17.
Buccaneers linebacker Anthony Nelson sustained a knee injury during a 23-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C.
The Colts will host the San Francisco 49ers (10-4) in the NFL’s Week 16 finale at 8:15 p.m. Monday in Indianapolis.
