March 31 (UPI) — Javier Bardem, Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson appear in the first teaser for Apple TV’s upcoming psychological thriller, Cape Fear.
The limited series will premiere on June 5. It is show-run and executive produced by Nick Antosca.
Academy Award winners Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are also executive producers on the series.
They helmed the 1991 movie version of Cape Fear starring Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte.
“A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance,” said a synopsis for the series that was released alongside Tuesday’s preview.
The show is based on the novel The Executioners, which inspired the 1962 version of Cape Fear starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum, as well as the 1991 remake.
