GOIC seeks reinforced GCC industrial performance

WAM DOHA: The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) participated in the 8th World Chambers Congress, organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Federation, and hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Congress was inaugurated on 22nd April 2013 and will continue until the 25th of April with the participation of Gulf, Arab and international chamber leaders at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha, Qatar.

GOIC Secretary General Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Ageel stated: "The participation of GOIC in this important event echoes the Organization’s efforts working towards promoting the industrial sector".

He added that investment opportunities suggested by GOIC during this Congress "aim at reinforcing the industrial performance in Gulf countries based on their economic assets. In fact, a large share of raw materials used in different industries is available in Gulf countries. Upon execution, these investment opportunities will allow industrialists and investors to meet the increasing demand for industrial products in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region." During parallel sessions, GOIC experts revealed specialized investment opportunities for Qatari and Gulf markets with a total value ranging between 300.5 million USD and 315.6 million USD. These opportunities were mainly in the sectors of chemical and petrochemical, mining and food industries. In details, these projects included: aluminium auto parts casting, forged steel products, soy protein, margarine and acetic and acrylic acid production.

Furthermore, GOIC experts delivered an introductory presentation about the Industrial Market Intelligence Portal (IMI Plus) which offers accurate and accredited statistical information to investors and other parties. It is an important database that is regarded as a valuable source for carrying out informed researches and feasibility studies and making sound commercial decisions.

The attendance was drawn towards GOIC’s platform during the exhibition that was held alongside the international conference over 10000 square meters. This display gave the opportunity for Qatari and international companies to exhibit their activities and offer new opportunities in the business sector.

The 8th World Chambers Congress is entitled "Opportunities for All". It is bringing together 12000 chamber representatives from about 100 countries. It sheds light upon several cultural events and programs, the World Chambers competition and other events.

Doha-based GOIC is a regional organization that brings together the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Yemen.
