Son of Obama's HUD Official Arrested for Assault and Kidnapping

Representative Carlos Henriquez of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the son of Sandra B. Henriquez, the assistant secretary for public and Indian housing in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development under Barack Obama, has been arrested for domestic assault and battery and domestic kidnapping.

The police report states that Katherine Gonzalves, who stated that she and Henriquez had recently embarked on an “intimate relationship” within the past month, was picked up by Henriquez at her mother’s home at 2 a.m. Once they were in the car together, Henriquez allegedly spent the next two hours driving around while assaulting her and refusing to let her out of his car.

The report stated:

 “Ms. Gonzalves stated that Mr. Henriquez had punched her with a closed fist repeatedly and strangled her while she was in his motor vehicle. Ms. Gonzalves stated that every time she attempted to jump out of the car the suspect (Henriquez) grabbed her wrists to prevent her from jumping out of the motor vehicle.”

Not only that, but Henriquez allegedly seized Gonzalves’s cell phone and removed the battery and SIM card, making Gonzalves a prisoner.  The police report said that her mother called her after she got in the car, and Gonzalves asked to be taken home, whereupon Henriquez said, Gonzalves said that when the car slowed she jumped out.

According to the police report, after she got into the car with Henriquez, her mother called her. Gonsalves asked to be taken home, prompting Henriquez to ask, “I came here all the way for what?”

Among those showing up in court to support Henriquez were John Barros, executive director of the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, where Henriquez served as president from 2007 to 2011, and Darnell Williams of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.

When Barack Obama’s minions preach about the War on Women while a woman is beaten up and kidnapped by the son of a high-ranking Obama official, and Democratic Party hacks show up to support the assaulter in court, he’s got a public relations nightmare on his hands.
