Pew Study: Majority of Millennials Oppose Gun Control

A recently released Pew Study shows the majority of Millennials (born 1981-1996) oppose gun control.

The study was conducted January 23 to February 9.

In the study, Millennials opposed gun control by a margin of 50-48 percent. Although it’s a small margin, WAMC Northeast Public Radio points out it is “roughly at par with the attitudes of older generations.”

In addition to opposing gun control, the study shows that support for keeping abortion legal “in all or most cases” is lower among Millennials than those who immediately preceded them–Gen X (born 1965-1980).

According to the study, 59 percent of Gen X believe abortion “should be legal in all or most cases” versus 56 percent of Millennials.
