NRA Spends $585K Highlighting Senator Landrieu's Gun Control Ties

As the December 6 runoff between gun control proponent Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and Second Amendment supporter Rep. Bill Cassidy (R) draws closer, the NRA is spending $585,100.80 for TV ads highlighting Landrieu’s gun control ties.

Breitbart News previously reported that Landrieu voted for Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) failed gun control bill in April 2013. Moreover, Manchin traveled to Louisiana and campaigned for Landrieu this past election cycle. He also campaigned for Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC), who voted for gun control with Landrieu in 2013.

Landrieu was also endorsed by gun control proponent Michael Bloomberg in the November 4 midterm elections.

In the race between Cassidy and Landrieu, the Huffington Post shows Cassidy leading by almost a 12 percent margin. The NRA television ads aim to help Cassidy defeat Landrieu on December 6, thereby taking one more gun control ally away from Senator Manchin.
