DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz Evades Explaining Difference Between Democrats, Socialists Again

Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke Sunday with NBC’s “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd and for the second time in the last week evaded answering the question of explaining the difference between Democrats and Socialists.

The question was related to 2016 Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who is a self-proclaimed “Democratic socialist.”

Rather than answer the question and explaining the difference between the two, Schultz instead bashed Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

“Donald Trump is essentially a reflection of where the Republican Party is today. Limiting a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, supporting — shifting to a more privately focused education system, ending medicare as we know it. That’s the important and relevant contrast as we go through the next 18 months of this presidential election.”
