Nearly half of all illegal aliens apprehended after crossing the border from Mexico are arrested in the 17,000 square miles of this sector.

Assaults by criminal aliens against Border Patrol agents increased 64 percent in July over the previous month. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reported 41 agents as victims of assault for the month.

Assaults on Border Patrol agents by illegal aliens continue to increase at an alarming rate. During the first four months of Fiscal Year 2017, assaults on agents increased by 103 percent over the same period in the previous fiscal year.
