A human smuggler attempted to run over a U.S. Border Patrol agent while attempting to flee from apprehension in South Texas.

Border Patrol officials in South Texas said illegal aliens attacked a group of agents with rocks as they attempted to provide medical assistance to a pregnant woman who illegally crossed the border from Mexico.

Assaults on Border Patrol agents fell by 17 percent this fiscal year when compared to the same period last year. This is the first time since 2014 where the numbers fell from one year to the next. The decrease appears to coincide with announcements from the Justice Department that assaults on Border Patrol agents will be aggressively prosecuted.

The Border Patrol agent shot on Tuesday was attacked by “multiple assailants,” Tucson Sector officials stated. An update released Wednesday by the sector chief confirms much of the original reporting from Tuesday by Breitbart Texas.

A person attempting to avoid detection at a Tucson Sector Border Patrol immigration checkpoint led agents on a pursuit. After stopping one time, the driver fled again and hit a Border Patrol vehicle, nearly striking an agent.

U.S. Border Patrol agents came under attack as they attempted to stop a group of marijuana smugglers from bringing their load into the U.S. The agents seized 87 pounds as a result near Brownsville, Texas.

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector continue to confront the dangers they encounter in the nation’s busiest region for the apprehension of illegal immigrants. Agents in this sector apprehend more Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), Family Unit Aliens (FMUA) than all other southwest border patrol sectors combined. Nearly half of all illegal aliens apprehended after crossing the border from Mexico are arrested in the 17,000 square miles of this sector.

A Guatemalan man will spend five years in a U.S. prison after he assaulted a Border Patrol agent in Uvalde, Texas. The agent suffered a concussion after the man pounded his head against a train car.

A Border Patrol agent patrolling the border on an ATV was hospitalized after being assaulted with a large rock. The attack occurred a few miles east of the San Ysidro Port of Entry in a known human smuggling area.

Agents previously told Breitbart Texas this is one of the contributing factors to Border Patrol agents being the most assaulted federal law enforcement officers.

Criminal aliens assaulted Border Patrol agents 47 times in August. This represents an increase of 15 percent over the previous month.

Assaults by criminal aliens against Border Patrol agents increased 64 percent in July over the previous month. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reported 41 agents as victims of assault for the month.

Criminal aliens assaulted Border Patrol agents 25 times in the month of June, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials reported. Since the beginning of this fiscal year, 583 have faced violence.

A report published this week reveals that assaults on U.S. Border Patrol agents during the first half of the current fiscal year are up 143 percent over the same period in FY 2016. Since the fiscal year began on October 1, 462 Border Patrol agents have been assaulted.

Several illegal immigrants attacked Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector during a 24-hour period.

Assaults on Border Patrol agents by illegal aliens continue to increase at an alarming rate. During the first four months of Fiscal Year 2017, assaults on agents increased by 103 percent over the same period in the previous fiscal year.
