Nigeria Arrests Soldiers Supplying Arms to Boko Haram

The government of Nigeria may have declared the war won against Islamic State affiliate Boko Haram, but new evidence has surfaced that they not only remain active, but have deep ties within the Nigerian military. Officials arrested two soldiers this week for having provided government-issued weapons to the jihadist terror group.

Nigerian Military Claims 338 Boko Haram Captives Rescued

The Nigerian military said they conducted an extremely successful operation against the ISIS-aligned terrorists of Boko Haram. They reportedly took out two of the terrorist camps in the Sambisa Forest, killing some thirty militants and rescuing 338 hostages, most of them women and children.

Obama Deploys Troops to Cameroon to Fight Boko Haram

President Obama announced Wednesday that 300 U.S. troops will be deployed to Cameroon to fight the ISIS-affiliated Boko Haram terrorist group. The troops will work to establish a base from which to fly Predator drones into the northeast Nigerian enclave in which Boko Haram is headquartered.

Boko Haram Members Arrested in Lagos, Nigeria’s Largest City

The Islamic State-affiliated terrorist group Boko Haram has a small, but very real presence in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city, authorities asserted this week. According to Nigeria’s federal intelligence agency, up to 12 people suspected of being members of Boko Haram have been arrested in the city.

New Boko Haram Rampage: 26 Throats Slit in Lake Chad Villages

A gruesome attack on villages near Lake Chad this week left 26 dead, as Boko Haram burned homes to the ground and slit the throats of anyone who stood in their way. Nigerian Army Releases 182 ‘Cleared’ Boko Haram Suspects

As part of its National Army Day, Nigeria released 182 prisoners Monday–men, women, and children, all suspected of having ties to the radical jihadist group Boko Haram. Military officials confirmed that they were released in northeastern Borno State, birthplace of Boko Haram, and that they had been cleared of wrongdoing.

Chad Begins Airstrikes, Arrests of Homeless in Fight against Boko Haram

The government of Chad has intensified its efforts against the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram following a bomb attack on the nation’s capital, N’Djamena. After banning the Islamic burqa veil, Chad announced a new series of air strikes against the terror group along the borders with Nigeria and Niger, and has begun efforts to detain “beggars” and foreigners to increase safety in the capital.

Boko Haram Is Prime Suspect in Suicide Bombing on Chad’s Capital

Suicide bombers attacked Chad’s capital, N’Djamena, on Monday, targeting a police training facility and leaving dozens dead. It is the first such attack of its kind on the Chadian capital, and the Boko Haram terror group is the prime suspect in orchestrating the attack, though no group has officially taken credit for the killings.
