Twitter has removed a tweet from Christine Pelosi, daughter of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), that defended the violent assault on Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) by his neighbor in 2017, an attack that left Paul hospitalized.
On Sunday, Pelosi tweeted that “Rand Paul’s neighbor was right,” in reference to Rene Boucher, the neighbor who violently attacked Paul in 2017. Boucher pleaded guilty to assaulting a member of Congress in 2018.
A Twitter spokeswoman confirmed that Pelosi was temporarily locked out of her account (an action that usually requires the deletion of a rule-violating tweet before re-entry) for violating the Twitter Rules against the glorification of violence.
Twitter users who now attempt to access Pelosi’s tweet will instead see a notice informing them that the tweet has been removed for violating the Twitter rules. The tweet can still be seen on archive websites.
Pelosi’s tweet was met with widespread condemnation from prominent conservatives on social media.
Which side is nastiest?” asked Paul Bedard, a columnist for the Washington Examiner.
Which side is the nastiest btw? Nancy Pelosi's daughter: 'Rand Paul's neighbor was right' https://t.co/RLFK8qKezi

Federalist senior editor Mollie Hemingway said the tweet was “truly awful.”
Democrat leader’s daughter encouraging violent attacks on Republican senators. Truly awful. https://t.co/G65IwElP6M

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk called on Speaker Pelosi to disavow her daughter’s glorification of violence. Pelosi has not made any public comment on the matter at this time.
Rand Paul was just diagnosed with the deadly Chinese Virus
And Nancy Pelosi's daughter, @sfpelosi tweeted:
"Rand Paul's neighbor was right" in reference to the man that beat Senator Paul and sent him to the hospital
Will @SpeakerPelosi condemn this?
RT so she can't ignore!

Later, Kirk also called out mainstream media reporters for failing to ask the Speaker about her daughter’s tweet.
Nancy Pelosi was on 2 different morning shows today, CNN & CNBC
And neither had the journalistic integrity to ask about her daughter's tweet endorsing violence against Rand Paul
Why do Democrats continuously refuse to condemn violence against conservatives?
It's shameful.
RT!

Film producer Robby Starbuck made the same observation, asking “have any reporters asked Nancy Pelosi about her daughter endorsing the felony assault of Senator Rand Paul to see how she feels about it?”

The Speaker’s office did not respond to a request for comment from Breitbart News’ Sean Moran.
