New Tone?
Wendi C. Thomas is a writer with The Commercial Appeal. The Sen. Norris she references is, I believe, Sen. Mark Norris of Tennessee, and SB25 is a referendum which deals with a school board issue. While I’m sure Thomas was just expressing frustration and wouldn’t hope that Sen. Norris actually drown, as a writer, I’m sure she has the ability to more creatively express frustration than to wish death upon a public servant.
Or, perhaps I’m giving her skill more credit that it’s due. Regardless, it was tacky and a giant tsk tsk in this era of New Tone.
In the meantime, let’s see how often this example is referenced in the mainstream media.
