Long-time Clinton advisor and Democrat strategist James Carville is set to become a columnist for the Washington, D.C.-based newspaper The Hill.
The Hill editor-in-chief Hugo Gurdon said in a statement, “James’s voice is among the most recognized in politics. We are so pleased to include his unique take on current affairs. James will be an ideal complement to our diverse and prominent line-up of contributors.”
Carville’s bi-weekly column begins just ahead of the 2016 presidential campaign in which Hillary Clinton is expected to be a Democrat frontrunner.
In January, Carville and his political commentator wife, Mary Matalin, were dumped by CNN as the cable news channel began a wide-ranging shakeup to fix flailing ratings.
Democrat Carville’s first Hill column will be about the modern Republican Party and how conservatives are affecting it.
Founded in 1994 just after the Clinton presidency began, The Hill reports on the goings on in and around Washington, D.C. and Congress and reports on lobbying, policy, and politics.
