Donald Trump won the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States on Tuesday night, making him the official 2016 Republican nominee.

His son Donald Trump Jr. announced their home state of New York’s delegates for his father — throwing the candidate over the top to reach 1,267 delegates — beating the 1,237 votes needed to clinch the nomination.

Trump’s other children Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany were standing by Donald Trump Jr. as he made the announcement.

“New York, New York” played as the delegates celebrated on the convention floor.
