A Los Angeles Times reporter apologized on Thursday for wishing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s life “would end.”

“I meant it in jest,” Steven Borowiec explained on Twitter after deleting his original tweet:

TIME magazine sent out a tweet earlier on Thursday, saying, “See Donald Trump’s life in photos.”

“I’d rather see Donald Trump’s life end,” Borowiec replied to that tweet. A Washington, D.C., radio reporter took a screenshot that went viral on Twitter:

Borowiec is far from the first member of the press to wish harm on Trump. In June, an NBC producer praised an illegal alien and attempted assassin as “a good guy with a gun” after he tried to murder Trump at a Las Vegas rally.
