Sen. Graham (R-SC) to Russia: Send Snowden to US for Trial
On Monday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sent a letter to the Russian Ambassador to the Untied States regarding NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Citing the infamous attempt by the Obama administration to “reset” relations with Russia, Graham called on the country to extradite Snowden. “Mr. Snowden is wanted in the United States for criminal violations and should stand trial for his actions,” Graham wrote. “The Snowden case is an important test of the ‘reset’ in relations between our two countries. Mr. Snowden’s own statements have made clear his guilt. If our two nations are to have a constructive relationship moving forward, Russian cooperation in this matter is essential.”
Graham’s attempt to urge Russia to turn over Snowden is not the first. On Sunday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that Russia was sticking its thumb in the eye of the United States by not turning Snowden over.
