Chick-Fil-A CEO Tweets on DOMA Decision: 'Sad Day For Our Nation'

Just months after gay activists initiated a nationwide boycott against Chick-Fil-A over CEO Dan Cathy’s support for traditional marriage, Cathy has spoken out again in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision striking down the Defense of Marriage Act. “Sad day for our nation,” he tweeted, “founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies.”

The tweet was later deleted.

Chick-Fil-A spokeswoman Carrie Kurlander stated, “Dan Cathy, like everyone in this country, has his own views. However, Chick-Fil-A is focused on providing great tasting food and genuine hospitality to everyone.”
