Fewer than 50 People Enroll in Obamacare in Wisconsin

The latest Affordable Care Act enrollment numbers in Wisconsin have come out, revealing that fewer than 50 people have enrolled.

The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance confirmed the low turnout, and some Wisconsin health clinics say that it’s even less than that.

Trish Sarvella with Partnership Community Health center indicated she converses with other health clinics and she says “less than a handful” have enrolled.

Saravella blames the low turnout on Wisconsin’s rejection of a state based exchange through the use of federal aid.

Wisconsin Govenor Scott Walker disagrees: “More than anything it’s based on the Federal website and problems the Federal Government has had with that website. There’s no lack of any commitment from the state of Wisconsin,” Walker explained. “In fact, for months we’ve been working with over 1500 state agencies, hospitals, health care providers, community based organizations and public health departments, elected officials, reaching out to make sure the tools are in place”.
